There are undeniably numerous styles in videotaping the American wedding.
Mine was influenced by the art of documentary filmmaking which encourages events to unfold naturally. From film school in the early 80's to subsequent production work in New York City in the 90's I have always found this element of spontaneity very fascinating. This is why in my work I give my subjects a respectful distance that allows them the privacy and comfort to be themselves. A relaxed atmosphere breeds honesty in emotions and articulations. These candid and unguarded moments provide opportunities for capturing comfortable, honest and truthful personalities devoid of self-consciousness which a nearby camera often inspires.
In between the hugs and laughter that come with friends and family there is much to celebrate on a wedding day. It is my hope that you bask in the glory of yours.
